This winter, there will be opportunities for intensive training in some of the Ruhi materials.
The sessions will take place between 1 - 6 January 2019 (please see below for details of
courses and dates) at the National Bahá’í C entre, 27 Rutland Gate, London SW7 1PD .
Participants will be able to fully engage with the study and preparation to serve their
communities and to play their part in achieving the goals of the Five-Year Plan.

The Ruhi books offered are as follows:
Book 1 - Reflections on the Life of the Spirit (2 - 5 January 2019)
Three aspects of identity from a Bahá’í perspective are explored in this book: “The reality of
my existence is my soul which passes through this world to acquire the attributes it needs for
an eternal and glorious journey towards God. My most cherished moments are those spent in
communion with God, for prayer is the daily nourishment that my soul must receive if it is to
accomplish its exalted purpose. One of my principal concerns in this life is to study the
writings of Bahá’u’lláh, strive to increase my understanding of His teachings, and learn to
apply them to my own daily life and to the life of the community.”
This book consists of the units “Understanding the Bahá’í Writings”, “Prayer”, and “Life and
Book 2 - Arising to Serve (1 - 6 January 2019)
The book helps participants acquire the skills and abilities, knowledge and qualities, needed
to enter into conversations with others that are uplifting to the mind and spirit. Participants
also think about the nature of the joy one derives from service. There are three units in the
book: “The Joy of Teaching”, “Deepening Themes”, and “Introducing Bahá’í Beliefs”.
Book 8 – The Covenant of Bahá'u'lláh
Unit 1 - The Center of the Covenant (2-5 January 2019)
Unit 2 – The Guardianship of the Faith (2-5 January 2019)
In the context of these themes generally, participants will explore such concepts as the
centrality of the Lesser Covenant to the unification of humanity; the nature and source of
the Lesser Covenant; the importance of turning to a Centre, and of aligning our conduct with
the Teachings of Bahá'u'lláh; the unique rank of 'Abdu'l-Bahá; Covenant Breaking; the Will
and Testament of 'Abdu'l-Bahá and the Guardianship.

-There are many shops nearby including Pret a Manger, Waitrose and Marks & Spencers to buy food . Alternatively, you can bring in packed food. Light refreshments will be supplied during the short breaks.
-There will be a charge of 4 pounds per person to cover the price of the Ruhi book and other materials.
